  • These are used only to generate your personalised story and are not stored permanently on our servers

Automatically collected:

  • Device type and browser for compatibility purposes
  • IP address (used only for rate limiting, not stored or shared)

AI-Generated Content

StoryQuest uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate stories and illustrations. Specifically:

  • Story text is generated by an AI language model based on the character details and choices you provide
  • Scene illustrations are generated by an AI image model
  • Character names and story inputs are sent to our AI providers to generate content, but are not used to train AI models
  • All generated content is age-appropriate and filtered for child safety

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

StoryQuest is designed for children aged 4-12. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

  • We do not require account creation or sign-up
  • We do not collect personal information from children (names entered are fictional character names)
  • We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising
  • We do not display third-party advertising
  • Story data is processed in real-time and not permanently stored

Data Storage

Story progress is stored locally in your browser only. We do not maintain user accounts or databases of story content. When you close your browser or clear your data, your story progress is removed.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI story generation
  • Google (Gemini) — AI image generation
  • Vercel — Hosting and deployment

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We do not share personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes.
